Engg student commits suicide

Chennai, Jan 12 (UNI) A 19-year-old engineering student has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at suburban Palkalainagar.

According to police, Vijayaraman hailing from New Delhi, studying in first year B.E. in a private engineering college at suburban Karapakkam, was staying with his elder brother Rajaraman (20), pursuing second year in another private engineering college. When Rajaraman returned home last evening, he found his brother hanging, police said adding Vijayaraman might have taken the extreme step due to not being selected in the recently held IIT entrance test.

Police removed the body to the Government Royapettah hospital for post-mortem.
