Dr Khan - Man with a mission to spread national integration message
Pune, Jan 12 (UNI) Dr Imran Khan, a physiotherapist from West Bengal, has undertaken a mission to spread the message of national integration, harmony and health awareness among the masses throughout the country, by running 7,000 kilometers in five months. After commencing his epic run from Howrah (West Bengal) on November 14, last year, Dr Khan reached Pune from Hyderabad after completing 3,200 kilometers run on January 9.
Dr Khan intends to run through 13 states and 84 districts with 368 halts to meet maximum people, students and others before completing his target.
Till now, he has run through West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
''I had quite satisfactory experiences as people whereever I went, treated me with respect and listened to me and my philosophy of life,'' he told UNI.
''My ambition in life is to make the youth healthy, both free from physically and mentally and creating awareness about crime, terrorism, nepotism and communalism to make India a vibrant country free from ills of hatred.'' Dr Khan explained.
Dr Khan runs approximately 40 to 50 Kms per day and takes a halt after every 15-20 km to meet people.
Dr Khan will re-start his run after two days' stay in the city for Mumbai and then to Nasik, Dhule and Indore, Gwalior before entering Uttar Pradesh. He will then go to Haryana, Delhi again via Uttar Pradesh and move into Bihar, Jharkhand then to West Bengal before concluding the journey at Kolkata.
