'Deport Bangladeshis from Asom, Arunachal Pradesh'
Allahabad, Jan 12: Leader of the Opposition in the assembly Keming Dolo today demanded the Centre to deport Bangladeshi nationals, who have illegally entered the state and neighbouring Asom in large numbers.
''The heavy influx of Bangladeshis in India, especially the North East, is creating problems...they are also engaged in insurgency,'' Mr Dolo claimed.
He was talking to newspersons here after bathing in sacred river Ganga along with his wife Mala.
The leader maintained that the illegal Bangladeshi nationals, who had entered the Indian territory, must be ousted for the betterment and peace of both the states.
Asked about the claim of China on Arunachal, the BJP leader said the state was an integral part of India. ''We were a part of India and will remain so in future.'' ''We strongly condemn China's claim. China's terrority is beyond the Himalayas and India's this side of the mountain chain. How can China make such a claim...'' Asked about the infiltration of Chinese army in the Indian territory, Mr Dolo said, ''Our jawans are already deployed on the border and safeguarding it.
''Some anti-national forces are also infiltrating India from Myanmar and posing challenges for the Indian forces.''
Asked about recent violence in Asom, Mr Dolo said any government could not fulfill the desire of all the sections. ''India cannot allow the formation of separate nation within nation.'' He suggested that the government took steps for development and progress of the North-East, especially Asom. ''But, no compromise should be made on the unity and integrity of the nation.'' In reply to a question, he expressed happiness over taking a dip in Ganga. ''I will now get peace and prosperty.'' However, he lamented the pollution in Ganga. ''In Arunachal, we also worship rivers and take every care for maintaining their cleanliness.'' Mr Dolo added the people of Arunachal also celebrated the festival of 'makar sankranti' on January 14 every year.''Lakhs of people from different parts of the country gather on the bank of Parasuram Kund and take holy dip on the occasion.'' The Dolo couple also took the blessings of Shankaracharya Swami Aghokshajanand Teerth Maharaj in his Ardh Kumbh Mela camp.
