Dacoits strike at petrol bunk
Bangalore, Jan 12 (UNI) A gang of dacoits assaulted three employees of a petrol bunk on the outskirts of Hirekerur town in Haveri district of Karnataka and decamped with cash, today.
Police said the dacoits, numbering about ten to 12, came in a van armed with iron rods, lathis and knives. They attacked the three employees and looted Rs 24,000 in cash, before fleeing the spot in the vehicle.
One of the employees sustained stab injuries and two seriously injured persons were admitted to the Government Hospital at Hirekerur.
Police said the dacoits, in the 20-25 age group, were conversing in Kannada with a Lambani accent.
Senior police officials visited the spot.
