Comprehensive probe into arms factory: Chouhan

Bhopal, Jan 12 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the police and other investigating agencies have been directed to comprehensively probe the busting of a weapons factory in a densely-populated settlement here and alleged arms supply to naxals.

''I admit that such a factory being unearthed in a densely-populated quarter of the city is a matter of concern but the police acted in time on the basis of information obtained through central security agencies' cooperation,'' he told journalists here.

Six people, including a woman, were arrested after yesterday's raid on the factory that was manufacturing bombs and other weapons in Piplani's Satnami Nagar.

''My government is contemplating a new Police Act and has submitted a review petition regarding the Supreme Court's directives vis-a-vis implementing the Police Commission's recommendations,'' the Chief Minister added.
