CM announces one kg extra rice for Pongal

Puducherry, Jan 12 (UNI) All ration cardholders here would get an additional one kg of raw rice along with the monthly quota of ten kg free rice for Pongal festival.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy made the announcement while inaugurating a special Pongal Bazaar of PAPSCO here last night.

The rice would be distributed from today, he said.

Mr Rangasamy said last year Pongal Bazaar reported Rs three lakh in sales and the current year's target was Rs five lakh.
