Civic reception for Amrithanandamayi on Feb 10

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 12 (UNI) A civic reception will be accorded to religious leader Matha Amritanandamayi here on February ten.

This is the first time a civic reception was being accorded to Matha Amritanandamayi in the city though she made annual visits and gave darshan to devotees, Brahmachari Sivamrita Chaithanya told a news conference here today.

About two lakh devotees from different parts of the district would participate in the reception and ''Amma,'' as fondly called her by devotees, would give darsan to all of them.

The reception was arranged to declare mass support for the humanitarian activities undertaken by Mata Amrithanandamayi, he added.
