Centre has releases Rs 2.53 crore under IAY

Agartala, Jan 12: The Centre has released Rs 2.53 crores as grants-in-aid to Tripura under the Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) during 23006-07.

According to official release here today, the Ministry of Rural Development had released the amount for the state's North District as second and last installment of central share of funds under the IAY scheme.

The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) of north district would spent the money for mitigating shelter problem of rural poor, release added.

The fund would be utilised for the construction of new houses or upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses.

State government would be realising its share within a month, a sanction order from the Union ministry stated.
