BSF seizes Rs 50 lakh goods, arrests 85 persons

Agartala, Jan 12: The BSF jawans has seized a large quantity of contraband goods amounting to Rs 50 lakh from various parts of Tripura's west district and nabbed 85 persons during December last year.

According to the BSF sources, the seized goods were Narcotics, forest produces, sugar, sarees and cattleheads during either smuggling to neighbouring Bangladesh or smuggling into Indian sides through various routes.

The BSF also captured 85 persons, both Indian and Bangladeshi, for illegally crossing over to neighbouring country, sources added.
