Azad Sandesh Yatra reaches Bhabra
Azad Nagar, MP, Jan 12 (UNI) The Azad Sandesh Yatra, which began from Allahabad on January 3, was today welcomed in Jhabua district's Bhabra by Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of State for Culture Lakshmikant Sharma who paid floral tributes to the immortal revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad.
''An Azad Mandir (temple) costing Rs 1 crore will be built here and a ministry cheque for Rs 45 lakh has been handed over to District Collector Rajkumar Pathak. On February 27, which is Shaheed Azad's martyrdom day, a Rs 1.5 lakh award will be presented,'' Mr Sharma announced while addressing a meeting at the Town Hall ground in Bhabra, which is the freedom fighter's birthplace.
While throwing light on the Yatra's objectives, its Convenor Anil Madhav Dave said that a slave mentality persisted in India and 'swadeshi' administrative systems had to be implemented for better governance.
The Yatra began from Allahabad's Alfred Park where the revolutionary had made the supreme sacrifice in 1931.
