AMFU seeks removal of state agriculture director
Aizawl, Jan 12 (UNI) The All Mizoram Farmers' Union (AMFU) today demanded the removal of the state Agriculture director for his alleged unfriendly and anti-farmers activities.
The AMFU said it had already submitted a memorandum to the state chief secretary seeking the removal of agriculture director O P Singh.
Earlier, Dr Singh had been suspended on charges of corruption but was reinstated to the director's post after the Laskar (departmental inquiry) Commission gave him clean chit, sources said .
AMFU alleged that Dr Singh had never supported them in any of the joint projects with the state government including WADI Model project under NABARD, IWDP/Haryali and Sustainable Farming Project under Planning Commission.
