AIMPLB rules out talks with Hindu leaders on Masjid issue
Chennai, Jan 12 (UNI) The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) today ruled out any further talks with Hindu religious leaders on the contentious Babri Masjid demolition case.
''It is not for us to start negotiation again,'' Mr Abdur Rahim Qureshi, Assistant General Secretary of the Board told newspersons after the three-day 19th session of the board here.
He said the Board had great respects for the Hindu religious leaders, but twice the talks were futile. ''We have been decieved not once but twice,'' he said.
Moreover, when the civil case was in a very advanced stage at the Lucknow Bench of Alahabad High Court, which is expected to pronounce order this year, there was no point in resuming talks, he said.
''We are at the fag end of the case and entering into negotiation at this stage is not advisable for a peaceful settlement of the case,'' Mr Qureshi said adding the Board had already declared that they would abide by the final verdict of the court in the case.
