Puducherry, Jan 12: Two constables attached to the Puducherry Armed Police have been suspended for their failure to prevent an undertrial prisoner from hurling footwear at a judge here earlier this week.

Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar issued the suspension orders on Constables Sundar and Sathyamurthi yesterday.

Frustrated over frequent adjournments in hearing his case, Ramesh an undertrial in a riot case, hurled footwear at Judicial Magistrate I Vaidyanathan early this week.

Meanwhile, Bar Association members resorted to an indefinite boycott of court protesting the incident and demanding action against the erring police constables following which the suspension orders were served.
