CBI seizes assets and cash of Rs.58.18 lakhs from GTRE official
Bangalore, Jan 11 (UNI) A technical officer of the Gas Turbine Research Estabilishment (GTRE), a Defence Research and Development Organisation unit, here has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for amassing assets, including cash, worth Rs.58.18 lakhs, by the Anti Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
A Grade C Technical officer, Mr K P Mohan Kumar and his wife, Bindu Mohan have been booked under the provisions of the Anti Corruption Act and the Indian Penal code for ammassing assets which were disproportionate to known source of income.
CBI in a release here said that a search was conducted at the offices and residential premises of Mr Mohan Kumar on January eight.
During the search CBI Sleuths had seized cash of Rs.3.4 lakhs, Fixed deposit certificates to the tune of Rs.45 lakhs and details pertaining to 17 flats in Bangalore and one house in Kerala owned by Mr Mohan Kumar and his wife. Details of huge amounts in various accounts maintained by Mr Mohan Kumar and his wife and other incriminating documents were also seized. A locker in the joint names of Mr Mohan Kumar and his wife in the HDFC Bank Airport Road branch was operated and gold jewelleries to the tune of Rs.300 grams were found.
The accused persons were also found in possession of a Toyota Qualis, Toyota Corolla and a Hundai Santro car.
