Boat capsizes in Brahmni; one dead 30 missing

Dhenkanal,Jan 11 (UNI) One woman drowned, while 30 others were reportedly missing, when a country boat carrying over 50 people capsized in Brahmni river this evening.

According to the police, the people were returning from Kamalang under Motanga police station to Kandarsingha under Parajang police station when the incident occurred.

At least 22 people were rescued by the villagers from the river while the police recovered the body of a women drowned in the tragedy.

Police said about 30 people were still missing. Senior district officials have rushed to the site to supervise the rescue operation.
