Bhopal, Jan 10 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today charged the United Progressive Alliance government compromising on internal security for votebank politics and demanded the Centre should spell out its security policy.

''Let the Centre revisit its policy on internal security in view of at least 15 major terrorist attacks since the UPA came to power 30 months back. Votebank politics is influencing internal security at every level, forcing the government to adopt a soft line,'' BJP Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu told newspersons here.

Referring to the recent violence by insurgents in Asom, Mr Naidu said after every major terrorist attack, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condemns it but does not follow up with proper action.

Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal also hinted at the possibility of the involvement of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence in the attacks, but still India was evincing eagerness to hold talks with our western neighbour, he added.

''Let Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf walk the talk,'' Mr Naidu quipped while referring to Dr Singh's earlier remark that ''there was no meaning in holding talks until Pakistan stopped abetting cross-border terrorism''.

Criticising the Congress for its ''soft line'' towards minorities for the sake of votes, the BJP leader accused party of following double standards on several key issues. ''The Congress is silent on infiltration on our eastern border,'' he added.
