J and K, Maharashtra police grill Kashmiri terrorist

Bangalore, Jan 10 (UNI) Police personnel from Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra today interrogated Pakistan-trained terrorist Imran alias Bilal Ahmed Kota, who was nabbed on the outskirts of the city last week along with a huge cache of arms.

According to police sources, the police officers from the two States were investigating in several angles whether the LeT-trained insurgent could have been involved in any subversive activity in the two States.

The Maharashtra police were trying to ascertain whether Imran was involved in any manner in the serial blasts in suburban trains in Mumbai last year and his connection with a person belonging to Pune, who had allegedly supplied him arms.

The J and K police questioned him regarding his connections with insurgent groups, the sources said.

It may be recalled here that the CCB police had on January five last arrested Imran, a Kashmiri youth, during transit when he came to the city in a private bus from Hospet. An AK-47 rifle, few grenades and a city map with markings on several vital installations were seized from him. The terrorist had been running a handicrafts shop at Hampi in Bellary district for the last five years. Some more arms and ammunition had been seized from his house in Hospet.
