Dry weather to prevail over southern parts of the country

Pune, Jan 10 (UNI) Cold wave conditions prevailed in Punjab and in some parts of Bihar.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Haryana and Orissa and in remaining parts of Bihar and were below normal in Jammu, west and northeast Rajasthan and in some parts of Telangana.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Manipur, southeast Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and were above normal in Sikkim, south Tamil Nadu and in some parts of Assam and Melghalaya and Konkan and Goa. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Punjab, Himalnchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, north Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar. Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
