Court rejects plea of Kerala police to handover terrorists arrested

Mysore, Jan 10 (UNI) A local court today rejected the plea of Kerala police to handover custody of arrested suspected militants Fahad, Ali and others.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Sangarshi rejected the application by the Calicut Assistant Commissioner of Police Navin, filed yesterday, stating that the two Pakistani terrorists were involved in many cases in Kerala. However, the judge rejecting the application sent back the arrested militants to the Mysore jail.

The Court also rejected the application filed by the Fahad seeking eight points including requesting for a Koran and legal help. However, the Judge said that once the case was taken up in the District Court, legal facilities would be provided by the Court.

Mysore Police had nabbed two extremists during an encounter few months back and seized many documents from them. Other six persons who have supported the ultras in obtaining driving license, birth certificates and other related documents were also arrested during their investigation.
