Ayurveda, yoga, cardiac care for Judges and litigants at Delhi HC
New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) The Delhi High Court, situated adjoining the historic India Gate, would have an ultra-modern health centre with Ayurveda, Yoga and cardiac care facilities.
Chief Justice of India Y K Sabharwal today laid the foundation stone of the Rs 4.65 crore hospital in the august presence of Delhi High Court Chief Justice M K Sharma and other Judges.
Justice Sabharwal said no other High Court in the country, including the Supreme Court, would have such modern facilities.
Justifying the setting up of a health centre, he said, ''Legal profession is a very high-pressure profession and many of the Judges, lawyers and litigants are subjected to constant pressure.
''Had such a facility been established decades before, many lives of the Advocates could have been saved,'' he said.
Yoga, meditation and ayurveda would help in rducing the tension of many lawyers and Judges, he contended.
Thousands of litigants coming to the court premises every day would also benefit from the unique initiative.
The four-storied building would be completed by December 2008, said Justice Manmohan Sarin, the Judge-in-charge of the hospital.
