TN to provide free stove, gas connection on Jan 14

Chennai, Jan 9: Fulfilling yet another poll promise, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will launch 'free gas connection and stove scheme' in the presence of Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora here on January 14.

The scheme would be launched on the premises of a housing board tenement in the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency, an official release said here.

Local Administration Minister M K Stalin, representative of the constituency, Union Communication and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Food Minister E V Velu and Chief Secretary L K Tripathy would participate in the function.

On the same day, state Ministers would provide free gas connections and distribute stoves to the poor in all districts, the release added.
