Commercial Tax department carries out sudden inspections

Badwani, MP, Jan 9 (UNI) A joint team of commercial tax department officials today carried out sudden inspections in four business establishments at Sendhwa town in Badwani district.

Commercial Tax department Deputy Commissioner (Khandwa circle) A K Bagga said a joint team of commercial tax department officials from Khandwa, Khargone and Sendhwa carried out sudden inspections under section 55 of the Value Added Tax Act.

He disclosed that Rs 25 lakh tax-evasion was unearthed last month during sudden inspections carried out by the department at five business establishments, who were made to deposit Rs 10.25 lakh.

He added that action was being taken to collect the remaining amount.
