Chandigarh, Jan 9 (UNI) The cold wave, currently lashing north-west India, continued unbated even as the mercury appreciably rose in many parts of the region but hovered two degrees to five degrees celsius below normal today.

Cold wave conditions prevailing in the region are likely to abate during the next two days, but ground frost may occur at few places in Punjab and isolated places in Haryana during the next two nights.

The Met Office has predicted light to moderate rain or snow at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and partly cloudy days with fog and mist in Punjab and Haryana during the next 24 hours.
