26 people leave for Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir

Jammu, Jan 9: As many as 26 people from Jammu and Kashmir, including three Sikhs, left for Pakistani-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) to meet their separated relatives after more than half a century via Chakkan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district yesterday, official sources said here today.

Because of Eid the Chakkan-Da-Bagh crossing could not open on January 1 and the trip was re-scheduled for January 8, they said.

''Joginder Singh, son of Madan Singh, hailing from Nanak Nagar went to Bagh (PoK) while an elderly couple, Baldev Singh and his wife Mohinder Kaur, from Jammu will visit Kotli (PoK) to meet their divided families,'' an official said.

Official sources said 36 PoK citizens returned to their homes after spending about a month with their relatives on this side and 12 people came back across the LoC to reach Poonch. Of them, four were PoK residents while eight others came back to their homes after spending nearly a month in PoK.
