Zila Panchayat member shot dead inside police station

Pilibhit, Jan 8 (UNI) Five unidentified assoailanty barged into a police station and shot dead a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Zila Panchayat member in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

BJP leader Sardar Baljeet and his supporter Dodram were shot dead, when they had gone to register a case in Hajara police station area late last night.

The reason behind the crime, however, was not ascertained.

A case has been registered and manhunt was launched.
