Sugar prices rise due to increase of fresh demand
Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) Sugar prices rose due to increase of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today.
Prices of sugar in small grade remained steady on moderate demand while medium grade hiked by Rs two on higher advice.
Ex-mill sugar in small grade went up by Rs five on better buying support while medium grade was slashed by Rs 10 on sustain heavy selling pressure.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,543/1,573, Medium grade: Rs 1,580/1,645 Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,515/1,545 Medium grade: Rs 1,540/1,590 UNI
