Rs 81.82 crore addl bonus for Haryana paddy farmers
Chandigarh, Jan 8 (UNI) The farmers of Haryana have got additional benefit of Rs 81.82 crore on account of bonus at the rate of Rs 40 per quintal for the purchase of paddy.
Besides, the state government has disbursed a sum of Rs 1330 crore to the farmers by six government procuring agencies for purchase of their 20.45 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the current kharif marketing season, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said.
Hafed had purchased 9.03 lakh MTs of paddy and made a payment of Rs 587.15 crore followed by Food and Supplies Department which had made the payment of Rs 394.59 crore for the purchase of their 6.07 lakh MTs of paddy, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 2.44 lakh MTs of paddy and the farmers had been given a sum of Rs l58.20 crore while Confed had disbursed Rs 114 .72 crore for purchasing 1.77 lakh MTs of paddy.
Similarly, Haryana Warehousing Corporation paid Rs 67.83 crore for the purchase of 1.04 lakh MTs of paddy. FCI paid Rs 7.21 crore for the purchase of 0.11 lakh MTs of paddy.
Mr Chander Mohan said a sum of Rs 1000 crore was arranged by the government as cash credit limit during the current kharif season while the payment of the farmers had been made to the tune of Rs 1330 crore.
