JK legislators pay homage to Saddam; criticise US

Jammu, Jan 8 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today paid tributes to late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and criticised the manner of his execution.

Referring Saddam Hussein as a ''good friend'' of India, the Upper House of Jammu and Kashmir Legislature passed a resolution paying homage to the ousted Iraq President.

Later, participating in the move, all the members criticised the United States and the Shiite-run Iraqi government for not providing a ''free and fair trial'' to the former Iraqi President.
