HC grants a week more to Jharkhand govt
Ranchi, Jan 8 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court today granted a week more to the state government to file status report in connection with the action taken against DSP (CID) Irshad Ahmad.
Earlier, Mr Ahmad, the investigating officer in the controversial Bhanu Pratap Shahi case, had filed an unconditional apology in the court which was unsatisfactory.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice M Karpagyavinayagam and Justice Pramod Kohli passed the order.
Advocate General S B Gadodia appearing on behalf of the state stated that some more time should be given in order to file the status report on the action taken against Mr Ahmad.
Mr Gadodia informed the court that the DSP had been removed from the investigation of MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi's case.
Shahi had surrenderd before the Garwah court on November one last and was later on released on bail.
