HC directs govt to file status report on missing children

Patna, Jan 8 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the state government to trace out the 143 missing children and file status report on it within six weeks.

While hearing a public interest litigation petition filed in this connection, Justice J N Bhatt passed the order here today.

Earlier Inspector General of Police (law and order) A C Verma filed a report in this connection stating that 1076 children were kidnapped during the last five years.

Of them 889 children were recovered, 44 were killed while 143 were yet to be traced.
