Gujarat school girls bag volleyball gold

Gandhinagar, Jan 8 (UNI) Gujarat school girls bagged a gold medal in the volleyball tournament organised by the School Games Federation of India at Gwalior.

In the finals played on Saturday Gujarat girls defeated Himachal Pradesh to bag the gold. In earlier matches they overpowered Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Maharashtra and Jammu, a release here today said.

So far in school sport meets this year, Gujarat has bagged 102 medals, the release said. It said under the guidance of Sports Authority of Gujarat team manager Ajay Desai and coach Rajesh Medwin the team comprising Shilpa Vala, Jyoti Parmar, Nehal Vala, Gita and Parita have given a winning performance.
