Govt to open 44 schools for child labourers in Darbhanga
Darbhanga, Jan 8 (UNI) Bihar government has decided to open 44 new schools for rehabilitated child labourers in Darbhanga district.
District Magistrate Upendra Sharma said directorate of labour department under the central government has approved the proposal for opening 44 schools for 2180 rehabilitated labourers in the age group of 10-14 years.
He said Rs 18.56 lakhs have also been released for the purpose.
''Every school would be provided funds for the mid-day meals,'' he added.
Mr Sharma said appointments will be made to maintain the 1:40 teacher and student ratio.
He also said Rs 100 per month would be provided to each student.
