Chinese delegation discusses tourism and culture related issues
New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) A high-level Chinese delegation, led by Ms Liu Yandong, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, today called on Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni, and discussed issues of growing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, the two sides sides highlighted the bilateral cooperation and stressed the need to enhance it further, particularly in the fields of tourism and culture.
Ms Liu appreciated India's efforts in showcasing its cultural heritage to the outside world and praised ongoing exhibition of ''Treasures of Ancient India'' in Beijing.
She also conveyed her good wishes for the Huen Tsang Memorial, which is to be inaugurated next month at Nalanda in Bihar.
Ms Soni, during the half-an-hour meeting, briefed the Chinese delegation about the initiatives of the UPA Government in areas like Panchayati Raj, rural employment, education and health sectors.
