Army shoots at civilian in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 8 (UNI) In a case of mistaken identity the army shot one person yesterday at Noapara village under Tikrikilla police outpost in Meghalaya.

The Gorkha regiment, which was conducting a combing operation in the area, shot at O Rabha suspecting him to be a militant, police said.

Today, Rabha succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Goalpara district of Asom.

Police have registered a case in this connection.
