Tripura Govt raises ration money to police, home guards

Agartala, Jan 07 (UNI) Tripura government has increased the monthly ration money of police, homeguards and SPOs in the state.

State Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury said here today that the decision of inceasing the ration money for the state security personnel would be effected from January 1,2007 and additional amount of Rs 5 crores would be spend by the state government annually in this regard.

The decision of increasing the monthly ration allowances to the police, homeguards and SPOs was taken at a cabinet meeting. With the increase, police personnel would get the ration money of Rs 450 per month like Fire Service and Jail Police of the state. The homeguards would draw a ration money Rs 420 per monthand the SPOs would draw an additional amount of Rs 50, along with their allowance, Mr Chowdhury informed.

With this increase, in all 31,762 police and homeguards personnel would be benefited.
