Tripura Govt increases wages of casual workers

Agartala, Jan 07 (UNI) Tripura government has announced a package of for the labourers and employees within its limited financial capacity.

Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury informed neswmen last evening that the employees, working in various state government departments since last fifteen years, would be regularised as per the government's rules and regulations.

The temporary workers were getting DA as announced by the state government.

With the decision of the state government, about 20,000 casual and daily workers would be benefitted and for this purpose an amount of Rs four crore would be spent from the state exchequer annually.

The decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting as per the recommendation of a committee that was set up led by Principal Secrtary to the state government for the purpose of rationalisation of wage structure of different categories of workers in the state.

The Minister further said the DRWs and fixed-pay employees engaged would continue to get the wages and the same would be applicable incase of permanent and part-time labour also.

The remunerations of the full-time workers, who are eligible for regularisation on completion of fifteen years of service, would not be altered, the minister informed.
