Punjab, UP win in Jr Girls football

Puducherry, Jan 7 (UNI) Punjab and Uttar Pradesh scored easy victories in the preliminary round league matches of the Fifth National Junior Girls Football tournament at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex here today.

While Punjab thrashed Kerala 5-0, Uttar Pradesh outplayed Chandigarh by an identical margin.

For Punjab, Pradeep Kaur and Maninder Kaur scored a brace each and Surjit Kaur netted one.

Kishna Singh and Kanjan Sharma scored two goals each while Shivani Verma contributed one for Uttar Pradesh.
