One arrested for receiving insurance claim on false theft report

Indore, Jan 7 (UNI) One person has been arrested on the charge of receiving insurance claim by submitting false reports of theft of his vehicles, police said today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime branch) Arvind Tiwari said Bangdada-resident Ranjan Gupta had lodged a police complaint about theft of his Maruti car at Pithampur police station and regarding theft of a Hero Honda motorcycle at Aerodrome area in December 2005.

Crime branch personnel raided Ranjan's house and seized the vehicles. Ranjan was being interrogated in some other cases.
