Modi invites NRIs to invest in Gujarat

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today extended an invitation to the NRIs to invest in Gujarat as the state had developed the infrastructure and social sectors in the past few years.

While inaugurating the Gujarat pavillion at Vigyan Bhawan, the venue of the conference, Mr Modi said Gujarat is not only recognised as an industrial state but the state had implemented several schemes for the development of the poor.

Singapore Deputy Prime Minister S Jayakumar visited the pavillion and appreciated the displays.

A number of NRIs, who visited the pavillion, expressed a keen desire to invest in the state.

Mr Modi invited the NRIs to attend the International Kite Flying Festival and Global Investors' Meet at Ahmedabad to be held between January 11-14.
