LIC agent shot dead in Madhepura

Madhepura, Jan 7 (UNI) A LIC agent Chandeshwari Prasad Yadav was shot dead by some unidentified armed miscreants near Keshav Girls' High School under Town police station area in the district late last night, police said here today.

District Superintendent of Police Anil Kishore Yadav said the incident took place when the victim, who was also the president of district LIC Agents' Association, was returning to his residence.

Raids were on to nab the criminals, the police said.

Meanwhile, people staged a dharna and blocked the main road in the area to protest against the incident.

The protestors, however, lifted the blockade following the assurance from the Deputy Superintendent of Police to nab the criminals, at the earlies.
