J K Governor inaugurates building block of SMVDU

Jammu, Jan 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt-Gen (Retd) S K Sinha inaugurated the building block of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) at Katra today.

He took stock of the status of infrastructure development works in the campus and interacted with the management and teaching staff.

Stressing for timely completion of all structures presently under implementation, General Sinha said availability of adequate facilities of all sorts are imperative for the growth and reputation of the university.

Vice-Chancellor Prof K N Bansal, while giving details of various activities of the university, said steps to tie up with national and international institutions to broad base academic scenario of university are afoot. ''In this connection university has initiated cooperation with Ruhr University of Germany,'' he added.
