Chhattisgarh Govt agency eying ISO 9001:2000 certification

Raipur, Jan 7 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Infotech and Bio-tech Promotion Society (CHIPS), an agency of the state government, is making efforts to secure ISO 9001:2000 quality management certification.

CHIPS has signed an agreement with Bhopal-based M/s National Productivity Council, which has been appointed as a consultant to assist the society in implementing quality norms fixed for ISO certification.

CHIPS Chief Executive Officer Aman Kumar Singh said the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 would result in work flows becoming more efficient, accountable and reliable.

He said CHIPS would be an ISO 9001:2001 certified organisation within a year.

Mr Singh said CHIPS had successfully implemented various e-governance projects like gram e-swaraj, e-class room and was currently implementing projects like statewide area network, e-procurement, state data centre, smart card based in transport management system and digital government.
