Two arrested for raping patient in private hospital

New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) Police today arrested two employees of a private hospital in Shahdara area of North-East Delhi, in connection with the rape of a 37-year-old patient on December 27, even as the main accused continued to elude its clutches.

While Rakesh (24), a ward boy, was still absconding, police arrested Rishi (32), also a ward boy, and Sanjiv (35), a technician at the Swami Dayanand Hospital, said a senior police official.

''While Rakesh committed the rape, Sanjiv molested her and Rishi threatened to kill the victim on the fateful day if she told anyone about the incident.'' ''We are on the lookout for the absconding person and would soon arrest him,'' the officer added.

The modesty of the patient, hailing from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, was outraged by the accused on December 27 at a secluded corner of the hospital, where she was admitted for undergoing hyterectomy.

The matter came to light the following day after the doctor, who was to perform the surgery, saw signs of forced sex.
