Chandigarh, Jan 6 (UNI) A local court today extended the interim bail of Punjab Sainik Welfare Board Director Brig (retd) J S Jaswal till January 11 while directing him to join investigations from Tuesday in a defence widow sexual harassment case.

Additional Session Judge BK Mehta, while hearing Brig Jaswal's bail plea, also directed the police to add section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) along with sections 506 and 509 of the IPC already slapped against him on the complaint of Raj Kaur, 35, the widow of gallantry award-winner Havildar Gurnam Singh of 13 Field Regiment.

Ms Kaur, who had joined the board as a clerk in 2000, accused the Director of sexually harassing as well as threatening her life when he joined as Director in 2003.

In her complaint, Raj Kaur, who also approached the National Commission for Women, said he tried to force her to have a physical relationship and began harassing her when she snubbed his overtures. She accused him of spoiling her ACR to pressurise her.
