One killed and 25 injured in south Kashmir blast

Srinagar, Jan 6 (UNI) One person was killed and 25 others wounded, one of them critically, in a hand grenade blast in south Kashmir district of Pulwama this afternoon, official sources said.

They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards a patrol party of 44 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) at Shopian, about 50 km from here in south Kashmir this afternoon. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside causing injuries to at least 26 persons. Two of the injured were very critical, they said adding one of them later died on the way to hospital The injured were admitted to different hospitals, they said.
