NDDB to invest in AP dairy sector: Jairam Ramesh
Tirupati, Jan 6 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh today said the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) was interested in investing in Andhra Pradesh's dairy sector.
Addressing the press here, Mr Ramesh said dairy provided an alternative income to farmers when agriculture was in crisis.
He said the NDDB would soon invest Rs 50 crore in Balaji Dairy in Chittoor District for increasing its capacity to 3,000 litre per day.
Mr Ramesh said in Andhra Pradesh about 90,000 litre of milk was sold daily and efforts would be made to develop the sector to help farmers enjoy additonal income.
The Minister also revealed that FDI in Indian industry had increased and touched the ten-billion Dollar mark.
He also said five new exports markets would come up in the country.
