Krishna brings laurels to India in Asian school chess tourney
Mumbai, Jan 6 (UNI) Krishna Bindumadhavan brought laurels to India and the school by his performance in the recently concluded 2nd Asian School Chess Championship, organised by the Singapore Chess Federation, in Singapore.
Krishna bagged a Silver medal in the U-11 Open category and then secured an impressive 5th position in the Open event for his category.
He also won the 3rd place in the boys' Under-12 category in the prestigious 'Celebrating 10' Chess Challenge 2006, organised by INTCHESS and Singapore Chess Federation.
'Celebrating 10' was an International Open Rapid event featuring a Grandmaster, several International Masters, FIDE Masters and strong players from countries across the world, a release stated here today.
Krishna started playing chess at the age of seven and is coached by Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay.
