Interpol hunts for absconding Indian men
Dubai, Jan 6 (UNI) The Interpol is on the hunt for four Indians who were sentenced to jail by a Bahrain court in absentia, for stealing 40 kgs of gold worth BD200,000 (Rs 2.3 crores) from three outlets of a leading jeweller.
The gold was stolen from three shops of Bahraini jeweller Salah Al Ras Rumani with whom they were employed.
The court sentenced the four, aged 48, 36, 26 and 20, three years each in jail while clearing one of them of forging a purchase order for the stolen gold.
They duped the shops in October 2005, and then fled Bahrain on October 11, police told the court, Gulf Daily News reported.
The Public Prosecution issued an arrest order for the four through Interpol on October 12, 2005.
