22 Punjab Fencers to take part in national championship
Patiala, Jan 6 (UNI) A 22-member Punjab Fencing contingent (11 boys, 11 girls) will take part in the National Fencing Championship slated for January 10-13 in Bangalore.
Punjab Fencing Association secretary general Arun Vij said today that 36 Fencers (18 boys and 18 girls) were presently undergoing training at the NIS here under the supervision of coaches Mohit Ashwani, Kishan Kumar and Lalit Kumar.
He said Ruchi Trikha and Karamjit Kaur, who participated in Doha Asiad last month, are part of the contingent. In all 48 medals would be at stake in the events--Coil, Epee and Sabre, he added.
