Mumbai, Jan 5 (UNI) As a clear testimony to the enduring relevance of Gandhiji's ideals and philosophy, even after 60 years of his death, Gandhiji is being resurrected, not only through popular cinema, but also through books.

First, it was Bollywood movie 'Lage Raho Munnabhhai' which created a wave for 'Gandhigiri' across India and now books on Gandhi have created interest among book-lovers in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala.

A little bookstall in Thiruvananthapuram which specializes in books on Gandhi has been raking in profits due to the sudden interest for Gandhi books, a release here today said.

The unprecedented rush for the books over the past ten days has caught the shop owners unawares. Running out of stock, he has placed orders for another 2,000 books.

''We were taken by surprise. Usually we sell books worth Rs 1,000 in ten days. This time we sold books worth Rs 30,000. Probably people are gradually attracted to Gandhian ideals,'' said J M Rahim, the shop-owner, also District Secretary, the local Sarvodaya Mandalam here.

The Gandhian spirit seems all pervasive. Even stalls on khadi products are doing brisk business, the release added.
